SONY/ATV JAREN EXTENDS DEAL WITH JAREN JOHNSTON
7/21/20

Sony/ATV Music Nashville has extended its global co-publishing deal with Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Jaren Johnston.

The Nashville native has penned tracks like Keith Urban’s #1 singles “You Gonna Fly” and “Raise ‘Em Up,” Jake Owen’s “Beachin’,” Billy Currington’s “Don’t It,” Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back At Mama’s” and “Southern Girl,” Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” and “It All Started With A Beer” and Drake White’s “Livin The Dream."

“If you look up the word ‘cool’ in the dictionary, you find a picture of Jaren Johnston. He may look like an American Rockstar, but his songs bleed with the heart of a Nashville craftsman poet. Our entire team is thrilled to continue championing his songs and future success,” says Sony/ATV Nashville CEO Rusty Gaston.

Johnston adds, “I’ve been a writer at Sony/ATV for the past 13 years. After meeting with Rusty and witnessing the fresh passion, drive and leadership he brings to the table, I knew Sony/ATV would remain my songwriting home.”

In addition to his genre-spanning songwriting credits, Johnston is the primary songwriter and lead vocalist for The Cadillac Three, known for their singles “Crackin’ Cold Ones with the Boys” and “The South,” f/Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley and Mike Eli.

Johnston is currently working on new writing projects with Urban, FGL, McGraw, Lee Brice and Owen, and most recently produced projects for Steven Tyler, Dierks Bentley, Hannah Dasher, Kelleigh Bannen and more.
