THE APOLLO CELEBRATES 90 YEARS

Black History Month is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate than by paying tribute to a New York City institution. The Apollo turns 90 on Friday (1/26) and to commemorate the occasion, the theater has rolled out a social media campaign designed to engage the community in honoring its legacy. #Apollo90 encourages people to participate by sharing their special moments under the iconic marquee, contributing to a digital mosaic that speaks to The Apollo's impact over the decades. The #Apollo90 campaign runs until Wednesday (1/31).

The Apollo will also launch a selection of concerts, comedy shows and educational programs across its stages as part of its upcoming season, adding to the previously announced programming at The Apollo Stages at the revitalized Victoria Theater set to open on Thursday (2/1).

New programming includes Soul Science Lab’s The Renaissance Mixtape (2/9-11), an immersive theatrical concert that uses elements of hip-hop culture and visual storytelling to highlight voices of the Harlem Renaissance led by Brooklyn-based artists Chen Lo and Asante Amin, 4x-Grammy nominee and Apollo New Works artist Stefon Harris and his band, Blackout (2/18).

In honor of The Apollo’s inaugural season at The Victoria, all tickets to Apollo-presented programming will be capped at $20 thanks to the support of The Jerome L. Greene Foundation. Find more information here.
