"TIGER" ROARS PAST 1B STREAMS ON SPOTIFY

Survivor’s 1982 single “Eye of the Tiger,” which resided at #1 for six weeks, has surpassed 1b streams on Spotify.

A global phenomenon since its release as the theme song to the film Rocky III, the single is now octuple platinum. “Eye,” which has sold nearly 30m copies worldwide, won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group.

Survivor founder Jim Peterik, who's been with Primary Wave since 2021, co-wrote the song with lead guitarist Frankie Sullivan. He's also written or co-written songs for .38 Special, The Doobie Brothers, Sammy Hagar, Brian Wilson and others.

Too bad Apollo Creed didn’t live to see this momentous day.
