QUINCY'S ONE NIGHT STAND

Director Leslie Lyons' new television show, One Night Stand, will arrive 11/17 via Quincy Jones' music-streaming platform, QWEST TV. It centers on two independent musicians tasked with collaborating on a song. The catch? They have no idea who they'll be paired with, and there's no rehearsal.

Filmed at Joe's Pub in The Big Apple, the inaugural episode brings together David Amram—who played with Dizzy Gillespie in the '50s and was the first composer in residence at the New York Philharmonic in the '60s—and Louisville singer-songwriter Cheyenne Mize. The follow-up episode will feature Fela Kuti's son, Seun Kuti, and 18-year-old drum prodigy Kojo Roney in a jazz-rock fusion. Meshell Ndegeocello, a 10-time Grammy nominee, will be featured on a 2023 episode along with a roster of surprise guests.

QWEST will air one episode of One Night Stand per month. Info about how to watch QWEST TV is available here. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're on a quest to find our dignity.
