OZZY EARNS A BLIZZARD OF GRAMMY NOMS

Grammy might as well have bitten the head off a bat.

Epic rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has earned a spectacular four nominations this time around: Best Rock Album (Patient Number 9), Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance (both for "Patient Number 9" f/Jeff Beck) and Best Metal Performance (for "Degradation Rules" f/Tony Iommi). The Rock-category nominations are his first as a solo artist.

Ozz's haul in this year's noms actually equals his total career nominations as a solo artist. His only solo win was a Best Metal Performance trophy in 1994 for "I Don't Wanna Change the World." As a member of Black Sabbath, of course, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Osbourne's Patient Number 9 earned a Top 5 bow in September of this year. In a related story, we see you playing air guitar every time "Crazy Train" comes on.
