PULSE BUMPS GRINGER TO VP, A&R

PULSE Music Group has promoted Steven Gringer to VP, A&R. The announcement was issued by Co-CEOs Scott Cutler and Josh Abraham and President Ashley Calhoun. Gringer, who previously served as senior creative director at PULSE, is based at the company's L.A. headquarters and will continue to report to Calhoun. As a fringe benefit of his appointment, he was invited to join Abraham, Calhoun and Cutler at PMG HQ's designated photo spot.

“PULSE Music Group’s A&R team has an instinctive, deft ability to find and sign unique talent early and then work really hard to create impactful opportunities to help our writers and producers share their music with the world," reads a statement issued jointly by Cutler and Abraham. "Steven is a key member of our team—he has a rare ability to work across genres and cultures to land opportunities for our roster."

During his tenure at PULSE, Gringer has signed Angel Lopez, who executive-produced Jack Harlow’s album Come Home the Kids Miss You, home to the #1 single “First Class." His other signings have lent their expertise to releases by Justin Bieber, Polo G, Maroon 5, Lana Del Rey, Anitta, J Balvin, Future and Nardo Wick. He's also "contributed significantly" to the development of the company’s pop, hip-hop, international and Latin rosters, the latter of which has seen an inordinate amount of success in recent years, especially with the singles “Telepatía” by Kali Uchis and “Yonaguni” by Bad Bunny.

Prior to joining PULSE in 2014, Gringer worked in A&R at Shapiro Bernstein Music Publishing with a range of artists that included David Guetta and Joywave. After several years in Silver Lake, he has cultivated a taste for artisanal kale.
