SOUNDEXCHANGE Q3 REPORT POINTS UP


Royalty-collection platform SoundExchange distributed more than $256m in streaming-music royalties in the third quarter of 2021. The Q3 payout is a 6% increase from Q2 and a 1% increase YOY.

In its Digital Radio Report, the company claimed more than 43k total payees and almost 9,200 registrations in the quarter.

SoundExchange collects and distributes digital-performance royalties on behalf of nearly 250,000 recording-artist and rights-owner accounts. Since its inception in 2003, it has reported $8.6b in gross distributions.
