SONY MUSIC ADDS NEW HR CHIEF

Andrew Davis has been named Sony Music’s Executive Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer. Starting in January, he will report to Sony Chairman Rob Stringer and COO Kevin Kelleher.

Having captained teams at Fortune 500 companies, Davis will be charged with leading SME’s global human resources function, including talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, as well as organizational development across the company’s global operations.

“Advancing our Human Resources policies and strategies is a top priority for our company to grow our workplace worldwide,” Stringer said. “Andrew’s experience leading global teams and building diverse pools of candidates in organizations will be an important contribution to our company’s future.”

Davis previously served as Chief Human Resources and Inclusion Officer for Lennar Corp. Prior to Lennar, he spent more than a decade heading human resources teams and strategies at Coca-Cola. He began his career at BET.

“Now more than ever, music is the antidote for isolation and provides an increased sense of community,” Davis said. “Music has always been one of the cornerstones of my life, so having an opportunity to work in my passion is truly a personal and professional privilege.”

Like most executives, Andrew had rather hoped never to have anything to do with us. Sorry about that.
