FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

This Flipover Friday is cause to flip out over BTS; the Big Hit/Columbia hitmakers top the iTunes album chart with BE, take the first eight slots at iTunes songs and are in the Top 15 at Apple Music.

Another seven newcomers on the iTunes album chart are led by Josh Groban’s “Harmony” (Reprise), at #2. Megan Thee Stallion’s Good News (1501 Certified/300) ponies up at #3 at iTunes and is the top new arrival at Apple Music, coming in at #4.

Mat and Savanna Shaw’s self-released Merry Little Christmas lands at #4, one slot ahead of Sellout (YellaBush/Columbia), from indie country act Koe Wetzel. Lee Brice’s fifth album, Hey World (Curb), is #7. The Recession 2 (YJ Music/Def Jam), from newly minted Verzuz champ Jeezy, is #9.

A couple of elder statesmen flesh out the Top 10: Jimmy Buffet’s Songs You Don’t Know By Heart (Mailboat) is at #8, and Neil Diamond’s new recordings of songs you do know, backed by the London Symphony Orchestra, Classic Diamonds (Capitol), is #10.

BTS’ “Life Goes On” tops the iTunes songs chart, with “Stay” and “Blue & Grey” right behind it. The first newcomer on the list that's not BTS-related is the new Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa collaboration, “Prisoner” (RCA), at #11. Another high-profile collab, Shawn Mendes & Justin Bieber's “Monster” (Island/Def Jam), is #20.

Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic) isn’t due until 1/10 but is already making noise; the long-player is #21 at Apple Music, and five of its tracks are between slots #15 and #25 at iTunes songs.

At Apple Music albums, Meek Mill’s four-song Quarantine Pack EP (Maybach/Atlantic) is #6.
