SURF'S UP AT ASTRALWERKS

CMG's Astralwerks is still sizzling following a hot summer. Surf Mesa and Topic hit Top 15 at Pop last week; the former's "ily" is now headed for the Top 5, thanks to the dance moves of CMG promo mastermind Greg Marella. GM Toby Andrews is so happy that he doesn't even mind being mentioned on this stupid website.

A&R head Jeremy Vuernick, ably assisted by Natalie Dodge (who inked Surf Mesa) Sergio Vega and team, are celebrating the inking of another TikTok smash, Disco Lines' remix of Taylor Swift's "Love Story." The project, signed by Vega, already has nearly 9m creations at TikTok and is getting plenty of playlist love since its proper release on 9/22. Check it out here.

Astralwerks vet Alison Wonderland dropped new music, which only adds to the label's dominant year in Dance/Electronic. Fueled by the resurgence of EDM remixes from TikTok, Astralwerks' YTD marketshare at the format is now 10.9%, with the closest competitor at 6.73%. Their all-genre share just reached 0.5%, a new peak for the label.

With Andrews traveling, we reached out to Vuernick for comment. Unfortunately, the rules at BOA Steakhouse prohibited him from using his phone while meeting with TikTok influencers.
