UMG, WMG UPGRADE TO HD WITH AMAZON

Amazon Music has partnered with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group to remaster thousands of songs and albums to Ultra High Definition, upgrading the digital streaming audio quality of these songs to the highest available.

Amazon Music’s Ultra HD, with a bit depth of 24 bits and a sample rate up to 192 kHz, has a library of 5m songs; more than 60m songs are lossless High Definition, aka CD quality.

Upcoming Ultra HD releases include Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York; B.B. King’s Lucille; Lady Gaga’s Joanne; and Bob Marley and the WailersNatty Dread.

Tom Petty’s upcoming Wildflowers & All the Rest; Eagles Live From The Forum MMXVIII; Linkin Park’s 20th anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory; The Ramones’ eponymous debut album; Lady Gaga’s Chromatica; Post Malone’s Hollywood is Bleeding; and Selena GomezRare, will soon be available to stream in 3D Audio. The 3D Audio formats include Dolby Atmos and Sony 360RA.

Amazon Music HD is $12.99/month for Prime members, $14.99/month for Amazon customers, or an additional $5/month for current Amazon Music subscribers.
