COUNTRY STREAMING IS A THING

On-demand streams for country music are up 21.5% YTD, which beats the overall market by four and a half points. The Godzilla of country streaming is Luke Combs, while Jason Aldean and recent breakout Morgan Wallen are no slouches. In fact, as the graphic below indicates, no fewer than 10 Nashville acts heave earned north of half a billion streams so far in 2020, and several of them broke through in the last few years—notably Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt. Amazon’s zipless Alexa-Echo ecosystem owns a stake in this growth, but it now extends to all major platforms.
