SHAZAM SHARES STATS FOR IWD

International Women's Day is 3/8, and to honor it Shazam has highlighted some of the record-breaking female artists on the platform, and the milestones they achieved in the past year.

Since March 2019, after 23 weeks at the top of Shazam’s Global Top 200, Tones and I’s single “Dance Monkey" is Shazam's longest-running Global #1 ever. The track also broke the record of most-Shazamed song in a single day on October 12, 2019

Billie Eilish's “bad guy” was the most-Shazamed song of 2019, and has been the second-longest running Global #1 since last year’s IWD, after Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey. Since last IWD, no artist—from any gender—had more solo tracks on Shazam’s Global Top 200 than Eilish, with nine tracks in total.

Florence + The Machine’s "Jenny of Oldstones” broke the record of most-Shazamed track in a single day back in April 2019. The track hit the record after featuring on a Game of Thrones episode on HBO. Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey” has since surpassed that record.

Cardi B appeared on more tracks ranking on Shazam’s Global Top 200 than any other female artist over the past year, including features.

“You Say” by Lauren Daigle, “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper and “Without Me” by Halsey have consistently been on Shazam’s Global Top 200 every day since last year’s IWD.

Dua Lipa has been the highest-charting British female on the U.S. Shazam chart in the past year with “Don’t Start Now,” tied with Florence + The Machine's "Jenny of Oldstones,” both reaching #3.
