U.K. CHARTS: NEW PEAK FOR SELENA

Selena Gomez’s Rare (Polydor) almost scored the Official Albums #1 in the U.K. this week, finishing 637 combined chart sales shy of Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent (Virgin EMI). Over on singles, Future f/Drake’s “Life is Good” (RCA) is the highest new entry at #3.

Capaldi’s debut album , Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent (Virgin EMI), logs an eighth week at #1. Despite coming in at #2, Gomez has another win: It’s her first U.K. Top 10.

Last week’s #1, Stormzy’s Heavy Is The Head (Atlantic/Merky), drops to #3. British band Easy Life, who had the highest new entry midweek, end at #7 with their third mixtape, Junk Food (Island), which is this week's biggest-seller on vinyl.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason has set a new Official Chart record today while entering at #8 with his second album, Elgar (Decca). He's the highest-charting cellist of all time in the U.K., and the first to break the Official Albums Chart Top 10.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Stormzy f/Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy’s “Own It” extends its run at #1 for a third week. Future’s new track, “Life Is Good,” debuts at #3, marking his highest charting song in the U.K. and first Top 10.

Elsewhere, Roddy Ricch’s breakthrough track “The Box” (WEA) climbs 11 places to #5, and The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” (Island) rises two spots to #8.

Further down, Stormzy’s diss track aimed at Wiley, “Still Disappointed,” lands at #21, and the title track from Gomez’s Rare is new at #28.
