U.K. CHARTS: MISSILES HITS THE TARGET

Sam Fender’s Hypersonic Missiles (Polydor) has hit #1 on the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart, as expected, with 41k combined sales. Over on singles, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey are the highest new entry at #2.

Hypersonic Missiles is the fastest-selling vinyl album of 2019 with 8,200 LPs sold. It's the fifth debut to top the U.K. chart this year, and third from Universal, following Tom Walker (Relentless), Dave (Neighbourhood), Billie Eilish (Polydor) and Lewis Capaldi (Virgin EMI).

The second highest new albums entry today is Emeli Sande’s Real Life (Virgin EMI) at #6, ahead of The PixiesBeneath The Eyrie (Infectious) at #7. The Lumineers return with III (Decca) at #8, and Korn’s 13th studio album, The Nothing (Roadrunner) opens at #9.

Following his Mercury Prize win, Dave’s Psychodrama returns to the Top 40, climbing 10 slots to #37.

On the U.K.'s Official Singles Chart, "Don't Call Me Angel" (Polydor/RCA/Republic) notched 59k combined chart sales, , including 8.2m streams, to take second place. Ed Sheeran and Stormzy’s "Take Me Back to London" (Atlantic) remains at #1 for a fourth week.

Meanwhile, Kosovo-born DJ Regard edges closer to the Top 10 with his breakout club hit "Ride It" (Ministry of Sound) climbing for a fifth consecutive week to #11, up four slots.

London music collective D-Block Europe score their fourth Top 40 single with the self-released "Nookie" f/Lil Baby at #16, and Post Malone f/Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott ’s "Take What You Want" (Island) is also new at #22.
