BONO'S VOICE: UPDATE

UPDATE: After a scary episode during which he lost his voice in the middle of a Berlin show, U2's Bono reports that he's on the mend.

U2 cut short their Saturday performance in Berlin after Bono "suffered a complete loss of voice." The band has said it will issue an update soon on the status of the experience+innocence tour.

"We don't know what has happened and we're taking medical advice," said a statement from Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen and The Edge. "We're so sorry for tonight's cancellation. Bono was in great form and great voice prior to the show and we were all looking forward to the second night in Berlin, but after a few songs, he suffered a complete loss of voice,

"As always, we appreciate our audience's understanding and all our fans' support in Berlin and those who traveled from afar. We will update you very soon."

U2 had also performed Friday at Berlin’s Mercedes Benz Arena and is scheduled to next appear in Cologne on Tuesday and Wednesday followed by four nights in Paris that begin 9/8.
