CONNECTING THE DOTS

Music, Tech, Schmoozing Merge On Grammy Panel

The Recording Academy is up to a lot more than just lining up trophies and making sure the giant mechanical zebra Bob Dylan rides out on is in good working--oh dear, we've said too much.

Anyhoo, in addition to awards and parties and performances there are also panels in association with Grammy Week, in keeping with the august body's educational mission. The Grammy Connect panel pictured above featured a distinguished group of experts discussing the merging of tech and music; it also featured Jonathan Kalter. Seen wondering how to work Snapchat are (l-r): YouTube Music's Margaret Hart, moderator DJ Skee, Capitol Music Group Sr. Director A&R Alex Willhelm, The MGMT Co.'s Kalter, Scooter Braun Projects CMO Brad Haugen and Carissa and Michael Alvarado of Us The Duo.

Shortly after this picture was taken, a bong shaped like a vintage gramophone appeared and shit got really real.
