2nd Chess biopic

CHESS FEVER: The Wall Street Journal’s John Jurgensen interviewed Marshall Chess—the son of legendary record man Leonard Chess and the onetime head of Rolling Stones Records—on the occasion of the opening of Who Do You Love, the second Chess Records biopic in as many years. This one, which stars Alessandro Nivola as Leonard Chess, with David Oyelowo as Muddy Waters, Keb’ Mo’ as Jimmy Rogers and Robert Randolph as Bo Diddley, was released in N.Y. on Friday, and will open in L.A. and Chicago in the coming weeks. “With both these movies, time goes on and you face reality,” says Chess, who’s a fan of neither film. “What is the legacy? It’s the music. All the politics, the business, doesn’t mean shit. The music lasts.” (4/14a)
