Milli Vanilli in the Movies

GIRL YOU KNOW IT’S TRUE: After being linked to both Brett Ratner and Uli Edel, the Milli Vanilli biopic will now be directed by Oscar-winning German Florian Gallenberger, and is ready to start production. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall’s Kennedy/Marshall Company will produce with writer Jeff Nathanson, while Kim Marlowe, manager of surviving member Fab Morvan, is executive producer. The project was previously at Universal. Gallenberger won the Academy Award for his live action short film Quiero Ser. His feature John Rabe, which was shot in China and starred Steve Buscemi, won four 2009 German Film Awards, including Best Picture. This is the first Hollywood film for Gallenberger, who just signed with UTA and continues to be managed by Anonymous Content. The duo, of course, were famously signed by German producer Frank Farian, who spotted Rob and Fab on a Munich club dance floor and hired them to front a band, but not sing, on the debut album, which set off an incredible chain of events.
