Jacobs Joins Fearless

STEP UP TO THE MIKE: PoMo promo veteran Mike Jacobs, who helped earn airplay that contributed to the success of The Offspring, Green Day, Rancid, Bush and No Doubt, has joined his hometown Huntington Beach, CA-based Fearless Records as SVP. Jacobs ran MCA imprint Way Cool Music from 1995-’98, signing Blink-182 to its first deal. The Orange County Fearless label has been around 17 years, developing such acts as Plain White T’s, At the Drive-In and The Maine, recently inking a new distribution deal with RED. Jacobs will oversee the Top 40 capaign for “Blackout,” the new single from Denver, CO, duo Breathe Carolina. The label also recently inked veteran multi-platinum punk act Eve 6. “Really happy to be back in the trenches at a great indie label ready to break through to the big time,” notes Jacobs. “It’s like 1992 all over again, except everyone's younger than me.” (6/14p)
