Martin Rises in CBS Hierarchy

OUR FAVORITE MARTIN: Michael Martin has been named VP Top 40 Programming for CBS Radio. Martin will oversee the company’s Top 40 strategy and preside over the format currently being broadcast in 10 stations across the nation, including four of the Top 5 markets. Martin will maintain his responsibilities as VP Programming for CBS Radio’s S.F. music stations, as well as PD of KMVQ (99.7 NOW), KLLC (ALICE @97.3) and KITS (LIVE 105). In addition, Martin has been overseeing the on-air presentation of N.Y.’s Top 40 WXRK (92.3 NOW), while the company looks to name a new PD. “Michael has done a tremendous job growing the audiences for our S.F. stations, and transitioned 99.7 NOW into a top performer in the market," said SVP Programming Greg Strassell. “At least that’s what he tells me.” (2/22p)
