CMAs highlights

THEY GO TOGETHER LIKE A HORSE & CARRIAGE: Marital bliss amid parallel careers became a primary plot point at Thursday night’s 46th Annual CMA Awards, as Miranda Lambert and hubby Blake Shelton highlighted the proceedings, together as well as separately. Lambert picked up her third consecutive Female Vocalist award, while Shelton won the male equivalent, also for the third straight time. They co-wrote the Song of the Year, "Over You," about Shelton’s brother, who died in a car accident, and sung by Lambert. Shelton also took home the night’s top prize, Entertainer of the Year for the first time. When picking up the Male Vocalist trophy, he said, “Country radio, thank you for not forgetting about me. I know I have a side job.” It would be hard to forget the engaging artist, whose quick wit is one of the most appealing aspects of The Voice, the side job he was referring to.
