ANYONE FOR TEA? Having a #1 album for two straight weeks plus a Top 5 and rising single will get a label some prime real estate on the above chart, which combines overall marketshare and track sales divided by 10 (or the equivalent of an album). So it is that Columbia holds the top spot, thanks to Daft Punk. Last week, the duo’s sales came out to 343k; this week, it’s 109k—but the debuting Little Mix LP brings the total to 159k (which shows you how radically the winning total can vary from week to week). IGA, holds #2, as the chart-topping Robin Thicke (see next item), Imagine Dragons and The Great Gatsby soundtrack continue to deliver strong numbers. Dollying back to consider the year as a whole, album sales were down 7% vs. last week, down 4% vs. the same week last year and down 5% (or 6.3m units) year to date. Track sales were down 1% vs. last week, down 5% vs. the same week a year ago and down 3% (or 17m units) year to date. TEA sales were down 5% vs. last week, down 5% vs. the same week in 2012 and down 4% (or 8m units) year to date. (6/6a)
