UMVD TAPS EDDY, GREENE

Structural Reorganization Has Eddy and Greene Taking Over Eastern and Western Divisions
As part of its reorganization originally revealed right here at hitsdailydouble.com (see 8/7), Universal Music and Video Distribution President "Lord" Jim Urie has named "Iron" Curt "N" Eddy and "Not That" Mike Greene as Senior Vice Presidents of Field Sales & Marketing, reporting to Executive VP Jim "Stormy" Weatherson.

Eddy, who will relocate to New York, will head up the distrib’s Eastern Division, with regional offices in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Miami, New York and DC. Greene’s Western Division will include branches in Chicago, L.A., Minneapolis, Seattle and San Francisco.

Eddy was previously Sr. VP of Sales & Distribution. Prior to that, he was Sr. VP Field Marketing for PGD for seven years. He started at PolyGram in 1978 as a marketing manager for the Southwest branch in Dallas. Greene was previously Divisional VP W.C. for UMVD. He previously worked at Blockbuster Music as VP Purchasing. He’s also held positions at EMI Records Group, Chrysalis, CEMA and Sony.

Commented Weatherson: "Both Curt and Mike are, by far, two of the best sales/marketing executives in the industry and important, respected leaders within UMVD. They will undoubtedly take both regions to even higher levels of success. And save us tons on airfare in the bargain."

Added Urie: "We are constantly striving to be responsive to a changing marketplace and by realigning our regional offices, we’ll maximize our ability to serve our customers. Or die trying."
