The number-two U.S. bookseller behind Barnes & Noble, Borders reported this week e-commerce sales through its Borders.com division increased 55% to $5.1 million compared to the second quarter a year ago, but sales decreased $200,000 from the previous quarter.
Borders.com losses, compared to the previous quarter, fell $400,000 to $4.2 million. Since the company cut its losses more than it lost in sales, it came out ahead of the previous quarter.
