STRICK TO MAVERICK

Danny Strick, the longtime President of BMG Publishing, will exit his post at the pubbery to join Maverick Recording Co. as a senior A&R executive reporting to company partner Guy Oseary.

Oseary and partner Madonna have been making a conscious effort to return Maverick to its musical roots. Although the label has recently focused on soundtracks, notably "The Matrix" and the two "Austin Powers" releases, its staff is presently in the process of launching a pair of important artist projects in Cleopatra and the Deftones. Maverick is, of course, the label that Alanis Morissette and Prodigy call home.

Strick leaves BMG after ten years of service. His contract with the pub company expires at the end of June; his official start date at Maverick will be July 1.
