MANAGERS WEIGH IN: MARION KRAFT (SHOPKEEPER MANAGEMENT)
7/28/20

Are your clients using TikTok?
Yes, they’re still sort of tinkering with it. Tenille, managed by Crystal Dishmon, has actively started on hers. It’s definitely an interesting platform to explore. Whereas it used to be the artists were in charge of their music and how it’s portrayed, now it’s the fans and their feelings on how they see the world.

With some fans wanting physical, how does that work?
We still deliver physical, make it available to purchase online. As a matter of fact, we just released the vinyl version of Platinum, one of Miranda’s albums, released in 2014. We are pretty old-school too and still love holding something in our hands. Hence, we will continue to service that fanbase as much as possible, while also embracing the streaming landscape.

What’s your vote for CMA Album of the Year?
Miranda’s Wildcard. It’s been out since last November, and every time I listen, I hear nuances I hadn’t noticed before. Her voice still lets me feel all the feels after all these years. It’s an incredible record, well-written and so fun to listen to. Plus, “Bluebird,” her current single, lifts you up when you need a little light, and right now we really need more of that.

What’s one thing you hope for the industry?
Find a way to continue to support one another, and not let divisive news put us in opposition. We are better together.
